In the design of this primary school, we faced the challenge of optimizing the available land while ensuring that the scale of the users, the children, was effectively addressed. The decision to go multi-storied was a strategic response to achieve the desired capacity and strength for the school, making the most of the limited space. Labo’s approach focused on creating a space that resonates with children’s experiences, ensuring that the design elements are relatable and tailored to their scale. The use of various elements in the design was a deliberate choice to enhance the connection between the school environment and the children, fostering a sense of familiarity and comfort.
The thoughtful integration of design elements ensures that the school is not just a physical space but a place where children can connect emotionally, fostering a positive attitude towards learning.
